The Veil: Religion or Tradition?

My partner, Shereena Qazi, and I worked on this story during a first semester of our sophomore year in Northwestern University in Qatar. Although this story was produced in Qatar, it’s a debate all over the world especially in Muslim countries. Some Muslims believe that the veil is mandatory for Muslim women while other believe that it’s a matter of choice. This ambiguity is a result of different interpretations Muslims have about a verse in the Quran that addresses this issue.
